How often should you have your gutters cleaned?
We recommend cleaning your gutters 4 times a year:
- EARLY FALL—mid to late October. This cleaning not only removes the leaves deposited into the gutters after heavy summer rains but will also help in the event of an early freeze.
- LATE FALL—late November to early December. Removal of all of the fall leaves and debris will help protect the gutters over the winter.
- EARLY SPRING—mid to late March. The rough winter weather pulls the twigs, leaves, and debris off the trees. This is also the time when animals make their nests. This is the cleaning that will prepare your home for the April showers.
- LATE SPRING—mid to late June. This is the time when seed pods and other blossoms finish falling. These will clog the gutters and the leaders. When these pods germinate you can have a garden growing in your gutters.
When is it necessary to replace the gutters?
If you notice that your home or commercial property’s exterior has any mold on it or peeling paint, it may be a sign that your gutters need fixing or replacing. Snow and ice can build within the gutter and cause leaks or damage. The weight from clogs and debris can cause a gutter to pull away from a house and start to sag. They may not be sloped properly and therefore not doing their job of channeling the water away from your building. Another sign that gutters aren’t working properly is if your basement is damp or there are cracks in the foundation. The gutters may be clogged, causing the water to flow over the sides resulting in water buildup around your foundation.

What other services do you guys provide other than Gutter Cleaning?
We are experts at gutter cleaning, but also gutter repairs, gutter installation (aluminum, copper, custom colors and sizes). In addition, we provide all types of roofing services from flat roofs to pitched roofs, standard roofing shingles, re-roofing and roof leak detection. Finally, we also work on the exterior of homes to prevent leaks into the home, including fascia boards, vinyl siding repairs, soffit repairs, facia board replacement, aluminum trim capping and windows and skylights. We have developed different field service teams with the expertise to deliver outstanding service in each of these areas.
Why should we use your company and not some other competitor?
At Spotless Gutter Cleaning and Repair, Inc., we understand that there are other companies providing similar services in Long Island, New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County, CT. However, we believe that through the decades of service, we have developed a unique system that continues to deliver excellence. Our process with a potential homeowner or commercial building manager/owner starts with our project manager who evaluates the project and will give you a written estimate of potential costs and our recommendations. Next, we send one of our specialized crews to do the work. After the work is completed, our project manager follows up to ensure that the work was done properly and that you are fully satisfied (and hopefully you will follow with a referral to a family member or friend). You will see the difference from our first interaction!
Do you guarantee your work?
The short answer is yes! Typically, we provide a one-year guarantee against defects and workmanship for things such as gutter installation, gutter repairs, siding repairs, fascia boards, aluminum trim capping etc. In addition, there is frequently a manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials which is usually 30 years.
With regard to roofing work, it depends on the type of roofing we are doing. What that means is on new installations of roofing i.e. full house, brand new roof or new flat roof on a commercial building, there is an industry Warranty Called GAF. We are GAF certified and that Warranty is for 30 years. However, due to the complexity of roof leaks we cannot guarantee roof leaks because of the complexity and multifaceted nature of roof and siding leaks. However, we operate with integrity and stand behind our work and will come back to attempt to address the problem if the roof leak continues after completing our recommended repairs.
What areas do you service?
We have been on the roofs of Nassau and Suffolk County Long Island, NYC, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties since 1995 proudly providing gutter cleaning and repairs to the following 150+ areas.
Are you licensed and insured?
We are licensed in Nassau County, New York. We carry General Liability Insurance and we are fully insured in the event of an accident or damage while on your property. We also carry Worker’s Compensation Insurance to cover any employee injuries. We will provide a Certificate of Insurance upon request.
Are your employees experienced?
Yes, all of our employees are experienced. We have different employees who specialize in their fields—cleaning, installation, and repairs. We are proud to have some of the few, if only, fully insured, professionally trained gutter crews in Nassau and Suffolk County, New York. We provide quality services at prices that are often the same or lower than non-insured companies.
Can I trust your employees at my home?
Over the last 20 years, we have not had one incident where an employee has acted inappropriately at a customer’s home. We carefully screen our employees and test them throughout their tenure with us.
Do I have to be home when my gutter services are performed?
No, we know how valuable your time is. We’ll do a professional job and if you are unable to be home at the time of service we’ll leave an itemized invoice. You can pay using your method of choice.
Do you provide FREE estimates?
As a general rule, we will gladly evaluate the issue at your home and provide you a free written estimate. We do, however, require that someone be home at that time (preferably the homeowner) so that we can discuss the matter with him/her and make our recommendations for the work required.
Is your service expensive?
This is a question that is frequently asked and the answer is that we are a professional gutter and roofing company that delivers outstanding service and uses only highly trained employees and the best materials. We believe that our costs are in line with our competitors’ and our focus is to deliver outstanding work.
How much will it cost?
Each project is unique. Prices are based on the style of the structure, pitch of the roof, linear footage, existing gutter guards, height, and difficulty of the specific job. You can give us a call or submit a request online for a free estimate.
How long will it take to get an appointment?
This depends on our current workload but generally we are able to start your job within 2 days. If you have an emergency or a special situation, we will take that into consideration and we’ll make your home a priority. Just call us or SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT online.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment may be made at the time of completion of services. We accept credit cards and checks. Although we do accept cash, we prefer the latter.
Do you have any coupons or discounts?
Yes, we offer new customer coupons, senior citizen discounts, group discounts and Gift Certificates for all Special Occasions. You can also save money by using our MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.
What happens if I cancel at the door?
If we arrive at your door after you have received an exact price quote and we incur the time and expense of sending a crew to your home there is a $75.00 trip charge.
Can weather affect my service date?
Yes, heavy rain, snow, overnight temperatures below freezing, or other unpredictable occurrences can cause a service date to be postponed. In this event we will attempt to reach you BEFORE your scheduled appointment to make other arrangements.
Should we tip our gutter technician?
Spotless Gutter Cleaning and Repair, Inc. encourages tipping for outstanding service. Our technicians are trained and work in difficult conditions at heights. If you are satisfied with the service, we strongly encourage you to tip them accordingly.
